Most wondeful time...

There is nothing better than spending Christmas with family! Unfortunately there is just never enough time to see everyone. This year we spent Christmas with my family. This was the second year we've been with them on Christmas morn out of the 5 Christmas' we've had as a married couple. It was nice to hang out with everyone, play games, watch Christmas movies, and see the kids so excited about Santa coming. Avery ended up spending every night in our room on the floor. It was cute that she wanted to be with us; however, it was not so cute when she woke up at 5:45 am wanting to go down and see what Santa brought her. We couldn't convince her to go back to bed so we sent her down to GG & PaPa's room. Luckily they coaxed her back to sleep till 7am which was still too early for me to unwrap gifts, but putting it off any longer would have just been torturous to the kids. The snow was icing on the cake to a wonderful Christmas holiday. New Year's Eve was uneventful this year. Zac had been feelilng sick, and I was exhausted from a lack of sleep the night before. So we stayed home and watched the movie, Hangover. After we saw the ball drop at 11 in NYC, I went to bed. Below are several pictures from Christmas.
Of course we had to make cookies to leave for Santa.

Zac played the guitar and we sang Christmas carols. We hadn't done this before in my family...if you know much about my family you would know we are not great singers. But I think everyone enjoyed it, and we may have to start doing it more often.Gotta love Christmas morning shots!

Yea for a white Christmas! We took another picture where everyone wasn't so wind blown, but I thought this one was funnier...plus it captured how we felt...VERY COLD!

Kids made chocolate Christmas suckers. Zane only made a couple because he spent more time eating the liquid chocolate rather than putting it into the mold.

We ventured out the day after Christmas up to Kansas to have Christmas with my mom's side of the family (minus Shelly & Jennifer's family). We had an ugly sweater contest and Wes won.

We always play different money and gift games instead of the typical draw a name and buy that person a gift. It's a lot more fun. This year I won the money from the girls game (this time the goal was to roll doubles so you get to work on unwrapping the very difficultly wrapped money)!

We waited a couple days to let the wind die down before took advantage of the snow and went sledding.
Sammy surprisingly had a ball in the snow. Zac would throw snowballs, and we would chase them. Of course when he went to pick it up, it exploded in his mouth, but that didn't stop him from doing it over and over again!
